“A small daily task, if it really be daily, will beat the labors of a spasmodic Hercules.”
That’s Trollope.
Author of 47 novels.
I’ve long since memorized the quote. It’s always rattling around in my brain.
But now that I am working on a novel, I go around muttering those words aloud.
They provide comfort and hope.
They show me the way forward.
Small.
Daily.
Small.
Daily.
Small.
Daily.
Watch out, spasmodic Hercules—here comes the hopeful, novel-writing snail.
