On Saturday morning, I put on long johns, two pairs of socks, two t-shirts, a sweatshirt, two jackets, mittens over my gloves, a hat and a scarf, and my boots.
I headed out into the world.
It was 11 degrees below zero–31 degrees below zero with the wind chill.
I stepped outside and my eyes misted over.
My nose froze shut.
The world was still and bright and astonishingly beautiful.
