Yesterday on a walk, I met a grandmother and her four-year-old granddaughter.
We talked about the joys of reading together.
“How many books do you think you’ve read?” I asked.
“Twenty-five zillion,” said the girl.
“A lot,” said the grandmother.
“Do you have a favorite?” I asked.
“We love all of them!” shouted the girl. She jumped up and down. “We love all twenty-five zillion gazillion plus two!”
“I don’t know who it makes happier,” said the grandmother. “Her or me. All I know is we’ve found each other through stories.”
Isn’t that the best line ever?
Finding each other through stories?
I love it so much.
I love it to the twenty-five-zillion-gazillionth power. Plus two.
