Ramona and I were taking a walk on a cloudy day last week.
We passed the library doors just as a mother and child exited.
The child (four or five years old) was carrying a stack of books.
CHILD: So right now, we will go home and read. We will read and read and read. We will read all of these books! And then tomorrow we will come right back here and get some more. Okay?
MOTHER: As you wish.
Oh, I loved overhearing this exchange!
It was if the sun had suddenly come out from behind the clouds.
