Earlier this year, I walked past a brick wall and saw a face peering out at me.
Somebody had put a toy lizard in a little nook in the wall.
It felt like such a gift to find him.
I looked for the lizard on subsequent walks—there, still there, there again (although it was his tail showing now, not his face) and then one day he was gone–replaced by a little white cat.
I was delighted all over again.
I started thinking about how much fun it would be to leave little animals here and there on my walks.
I started with this mouse.
I hope somebody finds her.
I hope it feels like a gift to see her, waiting there.
