I am so grateful for anybody who can tell a story well and true.
So right now, I am very grateful for Paulette Jiles and her novel News of the World.
I am reading slowly, savoring each line.
I am halfway through.
I don’t want it to end.
And every time I close the book and look at the title, I think this is what a good book does, it brings us news of the world–which is to say a good book brings us news of other hearts, and thereby helps us understand our own.
